3- Ingredient Homemade Pumpkin Dog Treats Recipe

When you think of pumpkin, your mind might go straight to lattes and pies, but guess what? Pumpkin isn’t just for us humans—it’s perfect for your furry best friend, too! Packed with fiber that helps keep your dog’s digestive system in check and loaded with vitamins A, C, and E, pumpkin is a nutritional powerhouse for pups. Plus, it’s rich in minerals like potassium and zinc, which keep their skin and coat looking glossy.

If you’re looking to bring a little fall magic into your kitchen (and get your dog’s tail wagging in the process), this easy three-ingredient pumpkin treat is the way to go. When my sister baked a batch and brought them over, my dog couldn’t stop begging—and the drool puddle on the floor was proof that these are a hit!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour or regular white flour

  • 1 cup canned pureed pumpkin

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (make sure it doesn’t contain artificial sweeteners like xylitol— I chose the brand from Target “Good and Gather Organic Peanut Butter”

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.

  • Add the pumpkin and peanut butter to a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.

  • Slowly stir in the flour until the mixture creates a dough.

  • Roll out the dough about ½ inch thick on a lightly floured surface.

  • Cut out fall shapes using a small cookie cutter or knife. Bonus points if you use a fall-themed cookie cutter in a pumpkin shape.

  • Place the treats about half an inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  • Bake for 12 minutes.

  • Let cool completely before giving to your dog to enjoy.
