The Golden Opulence Sundae is known as the most expensive ice cream sundae in the world! Sold at the New York City restaurant Serendipity 3, the Golden Opulence Sundae must be preordered 48 hours ahead of your arrival to the restaurant and will run you $1,000.
So what makes this ice cream sundae so expensive? It all starts with three scoops of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream that is infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23-karat edible gold leaf. Amedei Porcelana, one of the most expensive chocolates in the world, is then melted on top. Rare Chuau chocolate chunks, exotic Parisian candied fruits, gold-covered almonds, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries are then added. In a tiny bowl on top of the sundae is sweetened Grand Passion Caviar. As if it wasn't already extravagant enough, the sundae is topped with a golden sugar flower and small flakes of edible gold. It is served in a $350 goblet and an 18-karat gold spoon.
