The 5 Best Wines for No Hangover

Tired of the agonizing headache and dizziness after a night of sipping on your favorite bottle of wine? Fear not, we've curated a list of our favorite non-alcoholic wines! All of the flavor of wine without the bothersome effects.

There are two types of non-alcoholic wines: fruit juices that are created to taste like wine, and wine that has had its alcohol removed. The two most common ways that alcohol is removed from wine (and beer) are vacuum distillation and reverse osmosis. During vacuum distillation, the wine is heated to a temperature in which the alcohol evaporates. During reverse osmosis, the wine is run through a semipermeable membrane which filters out just the large alcohol particles, but not the flavor compounds.

Before popping open your bottle of non-alcoholic wine, please note that dealcoholized wines contain traces of alcohol, about 0.5% ABV. This percentage is similar to the alcohol content of kombucha.

No wine screams summertime like Rosé! According to FRE's site, "Fre alcohol-removed Rosé is a delicate, pink-hued wine, with lively strawberry and citrus flavors. The palate is crisp and fruity, with ripe berry accents and a beautiful, refreshing finish." This Rosé contains less than 0.5% ABV. Sounds like the perfect Rosé to me!

This wine is made with a less common alcohol removal process using a spinning cone column. During this process "The spinning cone facilitates the removal and safe-guarding of fragile wine aromas and flavors at low temperatures, then removes the alcohol at slightly higher temperatures. The wine essences are then reintroduced to the dealcoholized base wine and blended with un-fermented grape juice." Pair this fresh and fruity non-alcoholic Rosé with salad and fish.

This wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes. "Teetotaler Red delivers a dry, full bodied wine with notes of oak, cherries and plum. The finish is smooth and has the perfect amount of tannins. Chill it slightly to bring the [flavor] out to the fullest", says Teetotaler about this wine. Teetotaler Red has 0.0% alcohol by volume and is great paired with a myriad of different foods! Check out the extensive list of pairings here.

This dry, full-bodied dealcoholized Chardonnay, "with its tropical fruit character and subtle oak from barrel aging, has a distinctive combination of buttery apple and butterscotch flavors, combined with a toasty French oak bouquet. This is a dealcoholized wine that will continue to develop complexity as it ages." Enjoy with scallops, mahi mahi, duck, and fresh cheeses. ARIEL uses a reverse osmosis method to remove the alcohol from their wines. You can learn more about how ARIEL makes their dealcoholized wines on their website.

"Sparkling wine with zero regrets." This crisp and floral Prosecco-style beverage contains 0.0% alcohol and only 50 calories per bottle!! Dry Secco may be the perfect option for all of your summer "wine" spritzers. It is not too sweet, and light in calories which makes it perfect for combining with fruit juices or your favorite mixers. Cheers to that!

"Elevate your next get-together with Stella Rosa Peach Non-Alcoholic! Bursting with flavors of lush white peach and wildflower honey"! This wine is lightly fizzy and contains only 0.3% ABV. Stella Rosa Peach is on the sweeter side--mix it with an unsweetened seltzer to make a virgin wine spritzer. Incredible on its own chilled or over ice on a hot summer day.

Cheers to not feeling sick in the morning!
