The 10 Wackiest Wines to Pop for National Drink Wine Day

Sure, you could crack open a bottle of your favorite Cab or try a new champagne for National Drink Wine Day, but why not try out something new? These wacky wines will sure make this special holiday one to remember.

1. Three Lakes Winery Pumpkin Wine

This semi-sweet wine has similar qualities to a Chardonnay with light notes of pumpkin. It is lightly sweet with buttery notes and a delicate finish. In early fall of 2018, this wine went viral and had pumpkin fans all over the country freaking out over it. It eventually sold out, but now that the hype has died down, you can order a bottle of it on Three Lakes Winery's website.

2. Jalapino Grigio Jalapeno Wine

I'm the first one to order extra-spicy wings on the menu, but I am not sure I'd reach for a glass of this Jalapino Grigio! Sold exclusively at H-E-B, this "fresh & fiery" white has a pinch of jalapeno heat. If you're a spicy margarita lover, try mixing this muy caliente wine with lime seltzer.

3. Monkhide Rose Petal Wine

This pretty pink wine is made using real rose petals--no artificial flavors or colors! "Monkhide Rose Petal wine is a deliciously floral and light wine made from freshly gathered fragrant rose petals. They are fermented in a barrel with sugar and yeast until ready for filtering and bottling. To enjoy this wine at its best, chill this wine to fully appreciate the complex floral notes and the rich, light finish on the palate."

4. Apothic Cold Brew Wine

For those who like to get caffeinated while they get drunk comes Apothic Cold Brew Wine! "Inspired by a passion for coffee, [Apothic] winemaker has crafted an infusion like never before. This limited release red blend is infused with cold brew coffee. Notes of red fruit and toasted oak combine with hints of cold brew for a well-balanced blend that captivates you from the first pour."

5. Fun Wine Coconut Pineapple Chardonnay

"Smooth chardonnay fused with coconut and a hint of pineapple. Golden color. Aromas and flavors of coconut and pineapple with a supple, vibrant, spritzy, moderately sweet light-to-medium body and a seamless, relaxed finish. A boldly coconut-flavored wine that’s not too sweet and is fun and friendly." One sip of this refreshing Chardonnay will transport your taste buds to the tropics.

6. Fun Wine Cappuccino Chardonnay

"Caramel, chocolate sauce, wine… Taste it to believe it....Aromas of white chocolate sauce and a creamy, crisp, spritzy, fruity, with light sweetness and light-to-medium body and a smooth, engaging caramel-flavored finale." Plus, each 5oz serving of this wine has just 59 calories and less than a gram of added sugar!

7. Schnebly Winery Avocado Wine

You read that right...Schnebly Winery has created the first ever wines to be made from avocados. It is unclear why the winemakers decided that grapes weren't good enough, but these unique "Avovinos" are sure intriguing!

8. Blu Perfer Blue Wine

Serve this at your next dinner party and all of your guests will be in awe! "Blu Perfer is an original young blue wine made from grapes 100% Chardonnay, macerated with extracts of grape skin, obtaining pleasant aromas of cherry, raspberry and passion fruit. With its own personality, owes its elegant blue color to a natural pigment found in the grape skin, Anthocyanin." It's quite surprising that there are no artificial colors in this eye-catching vino.

9. Duplin Winery Cotton Candy Wine

"Close your eyes, take a sip of Cotton Candy and let the light as a cloud sweetness take you back to that first kiss on the Ferris Wheel. Hints of vanilla and summer berries spin on the palate like giggles on the Tilt-A-Whirl." One would think that this wine is sickeningly sweet and artificial, but some reviewers say that Duplin Cotton Candy tastes like cotton candy grapes and that it is their go-to vino. Cheers to that!

10. Central Coast Bacon Red

I know we're all thinking it, but no, this wine isn't made with bacon. It contains smoky, peppery, rich and juicy flavors that are reminiscent of cooked bacon.
