The smell of the durian fruit has been compared to rotting flesh, smelly gym clothes and raw sewage...but what does it taste like?
Known as the world's stinkiest fruit, durian is native to Southeast Asia. It is so smelly that in Thailand, Japan and Hong Kong, its consumption on public transportation has been banned. Despite its horrific smell, those who have dared to try the fruit say that it has a sweet, custardy taste with notes of caramel and vanilla.
